We achieved shock resistance with the bare minimum case thickness by adopting a metal-clad shock-resistant structure. Optimised, high-density mounting of the circuit board structure made it possible to slim the module even further. The result is an exceptionally slim design for an analogue-digital combination model with a metal case and a comfortable fit on the wrist. Besides, it provides excellent water resistance.

The watch's urethane band employs a minutely detailed square dot texture. Sophisticated molding technology was used to achieve textural intricacy with incremental variations in dot size. A slide lever makes it easy to attach and remove the band.

A stainless-steel bezel and inner case made with glass fibre-reinforced resin safeguards the module. Inheriting the design concept of the very first G-SHOCK with its iconic octagonal form, the bezel is crafted in a meticulous process of forging, cutting, and polishing. A circular hairline finish applied to the top surface and a mirror polish on the sides give the bezel a beautiful gleam.

2 High-contrast face for readability and beauty

The dial incorporates an oblong grid pattern applied with transparent printing and a circular hairline finish. This combination accentuates the dimensionality of the LCD and inset dial, lending a modern touch to the face. The blue and green models feature metallic textures achieved with vapour deposition. Vapour deposition and a phosphorescent finish are also applied to the three-dimensional index marks to offer enhanced watch readability in the dark.

The watches come with Smartphone Link and Tough Solar, while still retaining the slim profile for which the 2100 line is known.
